MMTC net profit jumps 8-fold to Rs 41 cr in Q1

Trading giant MMTC today reported 8-fold jump in net profit to Rs 40.7 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2014-15.

It had posted net profit of Rs 5.02 crore during the same period of last fiscal, 2013-14, MMTC said in a BSE filing.

However, the state-owned unit's total income from operations declined to Rs 5,217.71 crore for the quarter, as against Rs 8,864.16 crore in the year-ago period.

The MMTC scrip closed at Rs 71.10, down 1.39 per cent, on the BSE.
