MNF sources said that former chief minister and MNF president Zoramthanga today informed the executive meeting of the party that the PC led by former deputy chief minister Lalhmingthanga had agreed to merge with the MNF.

Executive Committee of the MNF today agreed to all the conditions put forward by the PC, including inclusion of its policy called 'Six Basic Needs' in the policy and manifesto of the MNF.

The 'Six Basic Needs' policy was formulated by former chief minister Brig Thenphunga Sailo, whose party the PC left after Brig T Sailo retired from active politics and his son Lalhmangaiha Sailo, a retired Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer, replaced his father.
