Opposition Mizo National Front (MNF) would contest the election to the lone Mizoram Rajya Sabha seat to be held on June 19, party Vice president Dr R Lalthangliana today said.

The party took the decision yesterday after consulting the alliance partners of the United Democratic Front (UDF), Lalthangliana told PTI.

The UDF is the alliance of eight opposition political parties which unsuccessfully contested the just concluded Lok Sabha polls by fielding a common independent candidate against the ruling Congress.
