Police used lathis to control the mob and bring the situation under control, Additional Police Commissioner of Punjab Police Harjit Singh Brar said.
The woman was crushed to death by a heavy crane which hit her from behind resulting in her death on the spot.
Brar said a criminal case has been registered against the driver of the crane vehicle.
