Mob lynching, honour killing be treated as terror activities:

A DMK member on Friday demanded in Lok Sabha that mob lynching and honour killing be treated as terrorist activities.

Speaking during the Zero Hour, Ravikumar cited the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data and said there has been a rise in the number of cases of mob lynching and honour killing.

"Such incidents (mob lynching and honour killing) should be treated like terrorist acts," he said, speaking in his native tongue Tamil.

Danish Ali (BSP) said student elections have given rise to several future leaders but polls are not being held in several central varsities.

This, he said, was a grave injustice to students.

 

Jagdambika Pal demanded that Bhojpuri, Rajasthani and Bhatti language be included in the Eight Schedule of the Constitution.

T N Pratahapan (Congress) demanded that the issue of Rohingyas refugees should be viewed through the humanitarian prism. He said India believes in the concept of Vasudeva Kutumbakam (the world is one family).

Rohingyas refugees from Myanmar, he said, are one of the most persecuted community. They don't even have access to proper sanitation facilities in the country.

Bhartuhari Mahtab (BJD), G M Siddeswara (BJP), A Narayanswamy (BJP) raised the issue of water crisis.
