Mobile refraction unit launched in Aravind Hospital

With an aim to take the eye care to the doorsteps of the people, particularly school children and workers, Aravind eye Hospital here in association with Essilor Group today launched a "mobile Refraction unit".

District collector, Archana Patnaik launched the unit.

In the first year, it was targeted to reach one lakh school children and 50,000 working population, which will be increased considerably every year, Dr V Narendran, Chief Medical Officer of the hospital said.

After carrying out eye tests, a smoothly polished highly accurate and excellent fitting lens in accordance with the frame on the spot will be given to those with eye problem, which is subsidised by Essilor, Jayanth said.
