Press Trust of India New Delhi
The Election Commission today let off Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan with a light rap for violating the model code while campaigning for the assembly by-elections in the state.

The Commission also "censured" BJP leader Yashodhara Raje Scindia for "intimidating" voters during campaigning.

The poll watchdog asked Chauhan to be "more careful in future" while making public speeches during elections.

The chief minister had promised a bridge over a river while campaigning in Mungaoli. The EC said it was a violation of model code.

In a separate order, the commission "censured" Scindia for "intimidating" voters by saying that those who vote for 'hand' (Congress' poll symbol) would not get benefits of government schemes.

Bypoll will be held in Mungaoli and Kolaras assembly seats tomorrow.
