A 27-year-old model from Mumbai, who was rescued after a high-profile prostitution racket was busted at a hotel here, has allegedly escaped from rescue home today, police said.

The racket, being operated from the hotel located in Pune Cantonment, was exposed last night only when the police conducted a raid and rescued her.

Police had arrested Vipul Dahal, who was allegedly working as a pimp under the Protection of Immoral Trafficking Act.

"After being rescued, the model was taken to a rescue home here in the city, where she allegedly roughed up staff and a woman constable and escaped in morning," said a police officer.

A case under relevant sections of IPC has been registered against the woman and search is on to trace her.
