Moderate rains in Himachal, drop in temperature

The maximum temperature stayed two to four degree below normal. Una was hottest in the state at 31 deg C, two degree below normal.

Bakloh in Chamba district was wettest in the region with 48 mm of rains. Hamirpur, Dharamsala and Sihunta recorded 40 mm, 33 mm and 32 mm of rains.

Other places which recorded rainfall are Thanaplaun (30 mm), Pandoh (29 mm), Jhanjali (28 mm), Palampur and Jogindernagar (27 mm each), Nagrota Surian (25 mm), Sujanpur Tira (23 mm), Jandutta, Dalhousie and Mandi (21 mm each), Amb (20 mm), (Gaggal 19 mm) and Kufri (18 mm).

Thick fog engulfed Shimla, which recorded 10 mm of rains, affecting normal traffic.

 

The MeT office has predicted rains at many places in the state with heavy to very heavy rains in lower and mid-hills during next 48 hours.
