Moderate rains lashes parts of HP, marginal rise in mercury

Some parts of Himachal Pradesh were lashed by moderate rains, while the weather remained dry in most parts causing marginal rise in mercury.

Dalhousie was wettest in the state with 43 mm rains while Baijnath recorded 24 mm rains, followed by, Dharamshala and Jogindernagar 15 mm, Palampur 11 mm, Bangana 9 mm, Sarahan 8 mm and Amb 5 mm.

The maximum temperatures rose marginally and Una which was hottest in the region recorded maximum temperatures at 39.0 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperatures rose to 26.5 degree, five degree above normal.

Bhuntar and Sundernagar recorded maximum temperatures at 34.5 degrees and 33.8 degrees, followed by Nahan31.6 degrees, Dharamshala 31.4 degrees, Solan29.0 degrees, Manali 26.0 degrees Kalpa 25.2 degrees, Shimla 24.9 degrees.
 

Kalpa was coldest during the night with the minimum temperatures at 10.4 degrees while Manali recorded a low of 12.0 degree, followed by Keylong 13.4 degree, Dharamsala 16.2 degrees, Palampur 17.2 degrees, Shimla 17.3 degrees, Solan 17.6 degrees, Nahan and Bhuntar 18.6 degrees, Sundernagar 19.7 degrees and Una 26.5 degree Celsius.

The local MeT office has predicted rains or thundershowers in lower, mid and higher hills during next six days from tomorrow and warned of heavy rains in mid-hills on June 21.
