Moderate snowfall in tribal areas of HP

Cold wave tightened its grip in tribal areas and other higher hills of Himachal Pradesh as another spell of moderate snowfall dropped minimum temperature marginally in the state.

The minimum temperature plummeted to minus 4.1 deg and minus 1.2 deg at Keylong and Kalpa in tribal areas which received 5 cm and 10 cm of fresh snowfall.

Manali reeled under severe cold wave conditions with mercury dipping to 1.2 degree Celsius, 5 deg below normal while Bhuntar and Saluni recorded a low of 6.2 degree Celsius and 7 degree Celsius, followed by Solan 8.3 degree Celsius, Sundernagar 9 degree Celsius, Shimla and Dharamsala degree Celsius, Palampur 10.2 degree Celsius and Una 12.8 degree C.
 

Nahan was hottest during the night with minimum temperature at 13.4 degree Celsius while Una was hottest during the day with maximum temperature at 32 degree C.

Sundernagar recorded maximum temperature at 26.9 degree C, followed by Bhuntar 25.7 degree C, Nahan 24.6 degree C, Solan 24.5 degree C, Dharamsala 21.8 degree C, Shimla 19.1 degree C and at Kalpa 10 degree C.

The maximum temperatures stayed 4 to 7 deg above normal in Shimla, Una and Sundernagar while minimum temperature was 4.5 degree C above normal in Shimla.

The local MeT office has predicted dry weather in mid and lower hills and rains in isolated places in higher hills during next two days.
