With barely four days left for campaigning to end for the second and final phase of elections in Odisha on April 17, heavyweights of three major parties - BJP, Congress and BJD - today held back to back public meetings to bolster the prospects of their candidates.

While BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi addressed three meetings at Balasore, Keonjhar and Talcher, Congress President Sonia Gandhi addressed rallies at Baripada in tribal dominated Mayurbhanj district and Balasore town.

Modi's visit to the state was third in last 15 days, while Sonia Gandhi visited Odisha for the second time within a week. Gandhi had addressed her first public meeting at Khariar in Nuapada district on April 5.

Chief Minister and BJD President Naveen Patnaik also addressed 12 public meetings besides road shows.

Patnaik addressed meetings at Khandapada, Nayagarh, Ranpur, Tangi, Banpur, Maluda near Chilika lake, Kakatpur, Nimapada, Chandanpur Bazar, Damodarpur Bazar, Birgovindpur and Mangalpur spread over Puri, Nayagarh and Khurda districts in coastal belt, considered as BJD bastions.
