Criticising Union Budget's proposals made yesterday in Parliament, Centre for Dalit Rights (CDR) today alleged that the funds under various schemes of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), farmers, women were slashed drastically.

In 2014-15, the SC's Sub-Plan budget was around Rs 43,204 crore, that is now reduced to Rs 30,000 crore in next financial year, P L Mimorath, CDR Chief Executive, said in a statement here.

Similarly in 2014-15, the Tribal Sub-Plan was to the tune of Rs 26,714 cr, which was now cut down to Rs 19,000 cr, he said.

Funds for Woman and Child Development and Panchayati Raj institutions categories were curtailed too, he added.

The Union Budget was therefore anti-dalit, anti-farmers, anti-women, he lamented, adding it would benefit only corporate sector and big business houses.
