Modi calls Paswan in London to enquire about his health

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today called up his cabinet colleague and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Ram Vilas Paswan to enquire about his health.

Paswan is currently recuperating from a heart surgery in London. He is expected to return to India next week and resume work.

"Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji called me today and enquired about my health and conveyed his best wishes," the 70-year-old leader tweeted and thanked the PM for his wishes.

Paswan is currently a minister without a portfolio as he has taken leave till June 14 for the surgery.

He has been operated upon to fix a leaky heart valve by fitting a device.
 

In his absence, the additional charge of the Food and Consumer Affairs Ministry has been given to Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh.
