Prime Minister Narendra Modi tonight appreciated all those who took part and contributed in the auction in Surat of his personalized pinstriped suit and other items and said proceeds from it would "add impetus" to efforts to clean the Ganges river.
"I congratulate & appreciate all those who participated & contributed in the auction in Surat & made it a success", he said in a tweet.
In a separate post on the micro-bloogging site, Modi said "The proceeds from the auction would add impetus to our efforts to clean the Ganga."

The money generated from the auction will go for Modi's ambitious 'Clean Ganga Mission'.
