Modi extends festival greetings

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today extended greetings to the people on the occasion of various festivals across the country as he began Navratra fast.

Modi observes fast during all the nine days of Navratra every year.

"Hearty greetings on the occasion of New Year (according to solar calendar). May the new year bring happiness, prosperity and peace to all of us," he said in his message.

Greeting the Sindhi Community on the auspicious occasion of Cheti Chand, he said "May Lord Jhulelal bless us and bring peace and joy in our lives."

He also wished "my friends" in Maharashtra on Gudi Padwa, saying "May you have a blessed and joyful year ahead."
 

The Prime Minister also wished people on Ugadi which is celebrated in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. "I pray for a year full of prosperity, good health and happiness," he said.

"Navreh greetings to everyone. May this year be a joyful one and may you be blessed with good health and well-being," he said about the festival celebrated by Kashmiri Pandits.

"On the special occasion of Sajibu Nongmapanba, greetings to my sisters and brothers of Manipur," he added.

He also wished "my Parsi sisters and brothers" Navroz Mubarak and said "May the coming year fulfil all your wishes and bring happiness in your lives.
