Prime Minister Narendra Modi today congratulated Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel for completing one "successful year" in office.
Modi had resigned as Gujarat Chief Minister on May 21 last year after 13 years in office to head for Delhi where he was sworn in as Prime Minister on May 26.
Ruling BJP's legislators had picked state's longest- serving minister Anandiben Patel to replace Modi as Gujarat's first woman CM.
"I congratulate Gujarat CM @anandibenpatel & entire Team Guj(arat) on completing a successful year of progress & good governance. My best wishes," Modi tweeted.
Anandiben thanked the Prime Minister for his best wishes. "Gujarat will continue to contribute to the best of its capacity to make India 'Vishwa Guru'," she responded on micro-blogging site Twitter.
