Congress today accused the Narendra Modi government of spending huge amount of money over false claims while slashing budgets of various schemes.

The Modi regime, which earned the name of "suit boot ki sarkar" could not follow-up its claim to generate more employment and the employment opportunities instead drastically came down in the past one year, AICC Spokesman Ajoy Kumar said.

The one-year tenure of Modi government has registered lowest ever employment rate, which was only 1.17 lakh against its promise of providing 2.50 crore jobs in a year, Kumar said.

The budget of Modi's pet campaign "Swach Bharat Abhiyan" was slashed to less than half compared to same projects during the UPA regime, he claimed, adding that the number of toilets constructed in last one year was less than the figure achieved by the previous government.

Referring to the turf battle between the Union government and Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) state government in Delhi, Kumar said the people of Delhi were sandwiched between the ego clash of Modi and Kejriwal.

"Both (Modi and Kejriwal) are over ambitious leaders and their ego clash caused suffering to the general masses in Delhi," the Congress leader alleged.

He suggested both the leaders to sit and sort out the issues for the betterment of the people of Delhi.

Kumar hailed the RJD-JD(U)-Congress alliance to contest the forthcoming poll in Bihar.

Modi wave was fast depleting in Bihar and BJP was scared about the alliance, Kumar said while accusing BJP for making all out effort to break the alliance.

A former parliamentarian from Jamshedpur constituency, Kumar expressed confidence that BJP will face a similar rout in Bihar like it faced in the Delhi poll.
