Modi, Jamir, Naveen greet people of Odisha on Utkal Dibasa

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Odisha Governor S C Jamir and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today wished people of the state on the occasion of 'Utkala Dibasa'.

Modi in his Twitter message described Odisha as a land of rich culture and glorious history. "Utkal Dibasa greetings to the people of Odisha," the prime minister tweeted.

The people of Odisha are hardworking and have showcased their efficiency in various fields, Modi said "I pray for the bright future and progress of Odisha."

Jamir appealed to the people to take pledge for making Odisha one of the prosperous and developed states in India.
 

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also wished the people of the state on the day.

"Our aim is to take forward the trend of development in Odisha," he said in a Twitter message.

Odisha become a separate state on April 1, 1936, on linguistic basis.
