Union Minister Rajiv Shukla today criticised Narendra Modi for using a language unbecoming of a Prime Ministerial candidate and advised him to take lessons from his senior party colleagues.

"The kind of language Modi is using in his speeches, it appears to be that of a ward level corporator. He should learn from the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Sushma Swaraj and her counterpart in Rajya Sabha, Arun Jaitely," Shukla told reporters here on the last day of campaigning for the November 25 Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh.

Referring to Modi's Sagar speech where he thanked the mosquitoes of Bundelkhand for "biting" Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi, Shukla said, "You cannot expect such kind of a language from a Prime Ministerial candidate."

"It is not necessary for a person to use foul language to remain in attacking mode. A person can be criticised even in decent language," Shukla said.
