A Congress member today tried to raise in Rajya Sabha the issue of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's wife Jashodaben filing an RTI application seeking details of security provided to her, but the Chair disallowed it.

Madhusudan Mistry (Cong) tried to raise the matter during Zero Hour, but Deputy Chairman P J Kurien said, "You give notice."

Kurien said the Chairman had allowed 15 issues to be raised during Zero Hour today and all the issues listed were important.

Mistry, however, insisted that he had given a notice to raise the issue.

"If your name is not there, give notice again. Don't trouble," the Deputy Chairman said.

Mistry had lost to Modi by a huge margin of over 5.70 lakh votes in the Lok Sabha elections from Vadodara and later got elected to Rajya Sabha.

Earlier, senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh wanted to raise the recruitment scam in Madhya Pradesh, but was disallowed as he had not given prior notice.

He alleged that huge corruption had taken place in recruitment for government jobs in Madhya Pradesh.

Kurien asked if had given a notice for the Zero Hour mention. "You are a very senior member. Give notice to the Chairman if you want to raise the issue."

The recruitment scam reportedly involved manipulation in selection process for government jobs conducted by Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board, popularly known as Vyapam.

Singh was joined by fellow Congress members from MP including Motilal Vora.

Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said the issue was a state subject and an inquiry was being conducted under supervision of the High Court.
