The BJP top brass, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party chief Amit Shah, will hold a meeting with the saffron party's chief ministers and deputy CMs on February 28 to review public welfare schemes as it gears up for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

The Centre's ambitious plan to provide health insurance to 10 crore poor families across the country, besides its thrust on the rural sector, especially agriculture, will also figure in the day-long deliberations which will conclude with Modi's address, party sources said.

Modi and Shah have held regular deliberations with the chief ministers and deputy chief ministers of the party on their overall governance. The prime minister had also asked them to reach out to the poor, and socially and economically backward sections with the welfare schemes.

The BJP has 14 chief ministers and several deputy chief ministers in states, including Bihar and Jammu and Kashmir, where it is a junior partner in the government.
