Third day into office, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today took a round of the PMO in South Block, meeting the staff and enquiring about the facilities available to them.

"Took a round of the PMO on reaching South Block this morning," he tweeted later and posted a photograph on his twitter account showing him with officials and other staff.

A PMO statement said Modi enquired about the functioning of the sections and the facilities available for the functioning of the staff.

Yesterday, he held a formal meeting with officials of the PMO, laying thrust on leveraging modern technology and developing systems and processes for effective monitoring and resolution of issues which are particularly brought to his office.

Modi, who was given a detailed presentation on the structure and functions of the PMO, said that over the past several decades, it has evolved as an important institution and that its "best practices" should be carried forward.

He emphasised on team work to bring in good governance and encouraged officials to freely interact with him with their ideas.
