Accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of weaving "pipe dreams" and terming him a "dream merchant", Congress has said that "dreams have a bad habit of vanishing once a person wakes up".
"People are now waking up from the pipe dreams woven by the dream merchant Prime Minister, who sold so many of them to the people of India to win the election.
"The people have already started realising that BJP, and its leader, the Prime Minister, has no miracle cure with which he has been promising to bring down prices and boost the economy," the party has said in the latest issue of its mouthpiece, 'Congress Sandesh'.
Slamming the NDA government over its first budget, Congress said that while it was easy to give "flowery speeches", it is difficult to deliver on "false promises".
