Steven Moffat says he is surprised by a surging debate on the sexuality of character Bill Potts from the show "Doctor Who" and feels the "fuss" must stop.
The 55-year-old writer says the team has not gone forward with the decision to hog the limelight but because it is the need of the hour, reported The Independent.
"We are not expecting any kind of round of applause or pat on the back. That is the minimum of representation you should have on television. The correct response would be: 'What took you so long?'

Last week, actress Pearl Mackie, who plays Doctor Who's new companion, Potts, confirmed that her character will be openly gay.
