After the Meerut Road T-Point was made signal free a few months back, a similar move is being mulled for the Mohan Nagar intersection, GDA said here today.
A plan has been chalked out by Institute of Urban Transport to free the Mohan Nagar intersection from traffic signals, Ghaziabad Development Authority vice chairman Santosh Yadav said here.
Motorists will have to drive another 2 to 3 extra kilometres to take circular U-turns to merge into the traffic, he said.

Vehicles going towards Meerut and Ghaziabad from Delhi UP Apsara Border will have to take a left turn from the Mohan Nagar intersection towards Hindan Air Force, from where it will take right turn towards Karhera Village and go towards Raj Nagar through new bridge, he said.
The traffic going towards Ghaziabad will go up to Trade Tax Check Post and then have to take left turn.
Traffic going towards Ghaziabad from Loni will also take the Village Karheda road to reach the Trade Tax Check Post.
Traffic emanating from Sahibabad and Link Road and going towards Ghaziabad will also take the same route.
There is a plan to construct under pass for the traffic coming from Ghaziabad and going towards Delhi.
Public will be invited by the GDA through hoardings and 'Whats App' application to give their valuable suggestion to tackle the traffic menace of the Mohan Nagar intersection.
He said that they will ponder over the good suggestion forwarded by the general public, if found feasible, the existing layout plan can also be altered.
