:Alleging that money was being offered to candidates for not contesting the ongoing Gram Panchayat elections in the name of unanimous election,Congress Friday urged the Telangana State Election Commission to take action to ensure that the polls are held in a fair manner.

"It is to bring to your kind notice that in the name of unanimous elections of Panchayat sarpanches and ward members, in several places huge money is being offered to candidates for not contesting in the elections," Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee Vice President Mallu Ravi said in a letter to the state Election Commissioner, Nagi Reddy.

In addition to the money offered by local leaders, MLAs were also offering Rs 10 to Rs 15 lakh to the villages where unanimous elections are taking place, he alleged.
