'Monitor those visiting govt hospitals in inebriated

Lt Governor Kiran Bedi on Friday asked the Collectors of Puducherry and Karaikal districts and Regional Administrators ofMahe and Yanam regions of the Union territory to maintain vigil on those visiting inpatients in government hospitals in an inebriated condition.

Bedi, in her whatsapp message to mediapersons after holding avideo conference with the officials, said all general hospitals should maintain a control on entry of drunk parent, relatives or friends of patients into the hospitals.

She said that these persons "are reported to be disturbing the peace of other patients".

Police and volunteers and hospital staff's help should be kept ready, she said.

On infrastructural facilities, she said hospitals in the Union Territory could raise funds following the Kerala model for fund generation

This initiative would help the government to introduce development andwork in the hospitals, she said.

 

Puducherry District collector T Arun, his Karaikal counterpartA Vikranth Raja and Administrators ofMahe and Yanam regions, Aman Sharmaand Shivraj Meena, participated in the video conference.
