Monsoon gets dull over Rajasthan

Monsoon trough was today weakened over Rajasthan except for eastern part of the state covering Kota Division where Shahbabad received 19 cms of rainfall till morning, a Met report said here today.

Monsoon trough was getting dull as its centre of activity shifted and moved on to foot hills of eastern Uttrakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, state MeT Director B N Vishnoi said.

However moderate to heavy rains occurred in eastern region of the Kota Division, he said.

Meanwhile, Ramganj Madi in Kota recorded 8 cm of rainfall followed by Jhalwar and Indergarh with 7 cm each, Harthuna in Banswara district and Chauth Ka Barwara in Sawaimadhopur district, 6 cms each, Bahadurpur in Alwar district 5 and Mount Abu 5 cm till 8:30 AM.
 

Low to moderate scattered rains also occurred in Jaipur and surrounding areas since yesterday, and this morning 1.7 mm of rainfall was recorded at the airport.

Slowly the Monsoon would phase out for time being till next trough come across in the state, the director said.

Scattered rains may occur in eastern region of Rajasthan tomorrow, the weatherman said.
