Monsoon remained weak in Himachal Pradesh

Monsoon remained weak across Himachal Pradesh and there was no rise in maximum temperatures as weather remained overcast for most part of the day.

Paonta Sahib was wettest in the region with 52 mm of rains while Dharamsala received 48 mm rains, followed by Gohar 24 mm, Arki 14 mm, Dalhousie 13 mm and Solan 12 mm.

Maximum day temperatures remained below normal and Una, which was hottest in the region, recorded a high of 33 deg C against 34.2 deg C yesterday while Dharamsala recorded a maximum of 25.6 deg C, Solan 25.5 deg C, Kalpa 23 deg C and Shimla 22 deg C.
 

Minimum temperatures remained moderate except in the tribal areas and Keylong in tribal Lahaul and Spiti district recorded a low of 15.2 deg C, 6.7 degrees above normal while Kalpa in adjoining tribal district of Kinnaur recorded a low of 14.8 deg C, two notches above normal.

The state capital Shimla recorded a minimum temperature of 17.1 deg C, 2.6 degrees above normal.

The local MeT office has predicted rain and thundershowers at many places in the region over next four days.
