Most parts of West Bengal remained dry as the monsoon remained passive, with only a few places receiving little to moderate rain today.

Coochbehar recorded 27.6 mm rainfall and Kolkata got 9 mm precipitation, while most parts of the state went dry, the Met department said.

High humidity and moderately high day and night temperatures led to discomfort among people.

Sriniketan recorded the day's highest temperature at 35.8 degree Celsius, while in Kolkata the mercury rose to 33.4 degree Celsius, they said.

The weatherman has forecast cloudy conditions with one or two spells of rain in both Gangetic West Bengal and sub-Himalayan West Bengal.
