Monsoon session of state legislative to be held from August 2

The decision in this regard was taken at a cabinet meeting presided over by the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Principal Secretary (Cabinet Coordination and Secretariat) Ravikant told reporters.

The monsoon session will be sixth of the legislative assembly and 171st of the legislative council, he said.

Among other significant decisions, the state government approved grant of Rs 200 crore from contingency fund for diesel subsidy for irrigation purposes under Rs 619.75 crore for diesel subsidy implementation programme in view of inadequacy of rainfall during first week June this year of the kharif season, Ravikant said.

The state government also approved Rs. 8.2 crore for construction of houses for the NDRF team which will be built at Bihta near the state capital, while Rs 643 crore were sanctioned for various schemes under the Chief Minister Agriculure Development Schemes in 2011-12 and 2012-13, the senior official said.
