Yogender Chandolia, Chairman of NDMC's Standing Committee said the monthly salary of unskilled workers will be now Rs 7,020 from the existing Rs 6,656.
The increase is from April and it will benefit 2,470 unskilled employees.
"They would also be paid arrears right from April, 2012 up to the date of payment after order is implemented," Chandolia said.
The revision of salary will bear an additional burden of Rs one crore on North Delhi Municipal Corporation.
"Since October last year, the monthly salary of unskilled worker was Rs 6,656 which will now be Rs 7,020 which is Rs 270 per day," Chandolia said.
