Riding high on rising demand against tight supplies from growing regions, prices of moong and its dal went up by a whopping Rs 500 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today.
However, other pulses in range-bound movements in the absence of worthwhile activity, settled around previous levels.
Marketmen said a significant rise in moong and its dal prices was mostly attributed to strong demand from retailers against restricted supplies from producing belts.
In the national capital, moong and its dal chilka local advanced by Rs 500 each to Rs 7,000-8,000 and Rs 7,900-8,400 per quintal, respectively.
Moong dal dhoya local and best quality followed suit and enquired higher by a similar margin to Rs 7,900-8,200 and Rs 8,700-8,800 per quintal, respectively.
