Moong dal prices fall steeply

Prices of thoor dal, moong dal, gram dal and maida decreased while that of the rest of the commodities ruled steady in the wholesale foodgrain market here today.

Moong dal today opened at Rs 7,500 a sharp fall of Rs 800 per quintal from Rs 8,300.

Thoor dal was down by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 12,500 from Rs 12,700.

Gram dal was low by Rs 400 per quintal to Rs 9,500 from Rs 9,900.

Maida (90 kg) was less by Rs 100 to Rs 2,600 from Rs 2,700.

Prices of urad dal,sugar wheat and sooji (90 kg) ruled steady.
 

Following are the wholesale rates of various agri-commodities (rates in rupees per quintal, unless stated otherwise): Thoor Dal Rs 12,500, Urad Dal Rs 13,000, Moong Dal Rs 7,500 Gram Dal Rs 9,500, Sugar Rs 3,900, Wheat Rs 2,900, Maida (90 kg) Rs 2,600 and Sooji (90 kg) Rs 3,200.
