In a mixed pattern of trading, moong and its dal prices rose by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market today on pick-up in demand against tight supplies from producing regions.

However, gram and rajmah chitra eased on lack of buying support against sufficient supply position.

Traders said pick-up in demand from retailers in the face of restricted supplies from producing belts mainly led to the rise in moong and its dal prices.

They said, however, adequate stocks against lack of buying support at prevailing levels kept gram and rajmah chitra prices lower.

In the national capital, moong and its dal chilka local moved up by Rs 100 each to Rs 7,300-8,000 and Rs 8,100-8,600 per quintal respectively. Its dal dhoya local and best quality were up by a similar margin to Rs 8,100-8,400 and Rs 8,900-9,000 per quintal.

On the other hand, gram eased by Rs 50 to Rs 4,700-5,450, while its dal local and best quality were down by Rs 100 each to Rs 5,100-5,300 and Rs 5,200-5,500 per quintal.

Besin Shaktibhog and Rajdhani quoted lower at Rs 2,180 each instead Rs 2,200 per 35 kg bag respectively.
