Moong, its dal weaken on low demand

Barring a fall in moong and its dal prices on subdued demand from retailers, other pulses held steady at the wholesale market today in thin trade.

Traders said sluggish demand from retailers against sufficient stocks on pick up in supplies from producing regions mainly attributed the slide in moong and its dal prices.

In the national capital, moong eased to Rs 4,000-4,600 against last close of Rs 4,300-4,700 per quintal. Its dal chilka (local, dhoya local and best quality were also down by Rs 200 each to Rs 4,700-4,900, Rs 5,300-5,800 and Rs 5,800- 6,000 per quintal, respectively.

Urad Rs 5,300-6,400, Urad Chilka (local) Rs 5,500-5,600, Urad best Rs 5,600-6,100, Dhoya Rs 6,000-6,200, Moong Rs 4,000-4,600, Dal Moong Chilka local Rs 4,700-4,900, Moong Dhoya local Rs 5,300-5,800 and best quality Rs 5,800-6,000.

Masoor small Rs 3,800-4,000, bold Rs 3,850-4,100, Dal Masoor local Rs 4,200-4,700, best quality Rs 4,300-4,800, Malka local Rs 4,400-4,600, best Rs 4,500-4,700, Moth Rs 3,100-3,500, Arhar Rs 3,800, Dal Arhar Dara Rs 5,800-7,600.

Gram Rs 5,450-6,400, Gram dal (local) Rs 6,300-6,700, best quality Rs 6,700-6,800, Besan (35 kg), Shakti bhog Rs 2,600, Rajdhani Rs 2,600, Rajma Chitra Rs 7,500-10,300, Kabuli Gram small Rs 9,500-10,300, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, Imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 5,600-5,800, Peas white Rs 2,475-2,500 and green Rs 2,600-2,700.
