The wholesale pulses market displayed a mixed trend today as prices of moong and moth fell by up to Rs 200 per quintal on sluggish demand at prevailing levels.

However, urad and kabli gram small variety edged up on scattered buying support from retailers.

Traders said muted demand from retailers at current levels against sufficient stocks on higher supplies from producing belts mainly kept pressure on moong and moth prices.

They said, however, some buying by retailers helped urad and kabli gram small variety to trade higher.

In the national capital, moong and its dal chilka local fell by Rs 200 each to Rs 6,700-7,400 and Rs 7,200-7,600 per quintal respectively. Its dal dhoya local and best quality followed suit and enquired lower by a similar margin to Rs 7,600-8,100 and Rs 8,100-8,300 per quintal.

Moth also shed Rs 50 at Rs 5,550-5,950 per quintal.
