Moong and Moth prices firmed up to Rs 200 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today on selective buying by retailers.

However, other pulses traded in a narrow range on alternate bouts of trading and settled around previous levels.

Traders said scattered buying by retailers against restricted arrivals from producing belts mainly led to the rise in moong and moth prices.

In the national capital, moth shot up by Rs 200 to Rs 4,600-4,700 per quintal.

Moong and its dal chilka local also traded higher by Rs 50 each to Rs 5,800-6,600 and Rs 6,500-7,000 per quintal respectively. Its dal dhoya local and best quality were also enquired higher by a similar margin to Rs 6,500-6,800 and Rs 7,300-7,400 per quintal respectively.
