More cell phones seized from Cherlapalli prison in Hyderabad

Ten more cell phones were today seized from the Central Prison, Cherlapalli here during the searches conducted by the jail authorities.

"Ten cell phones were seized from Godavari, Swarnamukhi and Krishna barracks. The mobile phones, without SIM cards, were concealed in the bushes near the barracks," Cherlapalli Central Prison Superintendent Bhaskar told PTI.

In the past 15 days as many as 23 cell phones and SIM cards have been seized by the prison authorities at the Cherlapalli prison.

Chief warden Karunanidhi and wardens Ravi and Jagadish were suspended by Telangana Director-General of Prisons V K Singh yesterday for negligence in duty following the seizure of phones.
