More parking to reduce traffic congestion in Dharamsala: Min

Dharamsala city of Himachal Pradesh, which will be developed as the only smart city in the state, is working in the direction to decongest the city from excessive traffic flow.

"Rs 2.75 crore parking is being constructed at Temle road Mcleodganj. Another parking at the cost of Rs 10 lakh shall be developed in Bhagsunath near Mecleodganj soon," Urban Development Minister Sudhir Sharma said.

The minister said that the move to provide more parking spaces and roads will solve the problem of traffic congestion within Dharamsala, slated to be develped as the only smart city of Himachal Pradesh.

He said that to reduce the traffic load to Dalai Lama's place, a road from Dharamkot to Bhagsunag shall be constructed at the cost of Rs 1.49 crore, which will help the movement of traffic.
 

The minister was addressing the media after inaugurating the road to community hall Kotwali Bazar.

The government is planning a parking lot on BOT bases at Kotwali Bazar too, he said, adding that the concreting of Khada Danda road to Mcleodganj shall be completed very soon.

Rs 1.5 crore shall be spent on the project, he added.
