More taxes on unbranded jewellery to hit livelihood: Cong MP

P L Punia (Cong) said lakhs of jewellers involved in making unbranded products would be affected by the taxes proposed to be imposed in the budget.

"It would bring back the inspector raj," he said, adding that it is against the liberalisation in the economy.

Virendra Kumar (BJP) spoke against cow slaughter while Yogi Adityanath from his party demanded that the government take steps to cleanse the Ganga river and provide all help for smooth conduct of the Kumbh mela to be held next year.

Kaushalendra Kumar (JD-U) demanded that the Centre provide Kalazar medicines to the affected in Bihar. Nikhil Kumar Chowdhury (BJP) said arsenic levels in drinking water in some parts of Bihar and Jharkhand had reached dangerous levels and this was leading to diseases.

 

Kalikesh Singh Deo (BJD) demanded that an Agriculture University be established in his constituency Bolangir saying this would improve the literacy level in the region and also help poor farmers.
