Over 50 human skulls were found stuffed in two bags lying by a village roadside in nearby Tirupur district, the police said.
The passers-by noticed the gunny bags in Kattur village, some 23 km from Tirupur city and on opening them, found the skulls, police said adding the exact number is not known.
The police said it has seized the bags and is investigating the matter further.
