Mortar shells fired from Afghan side kill tribesman in Pak

A tribesman was killed when two mortar shells fired from bordering Afghanistan fell on a house in northwest Pakistan's tribal region today, officials said.

Two shells fired from Kunar province of eastern Afghanistan landed on a house in Babra, some 45 kilometres off Khar, headquarters of Bajaur agency.

A tribesman identified as Sher Ali was killed in the explosion, the officials said.

The local peace committee has launched a search operation against the suspects near Pak-Afghan border.
