Maharashtra Minister of State for Agriculture Sadabhau Khot today returned a loan of Rs 2.5 lakh to his party chief and Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatna MP Raju Shetti, which he had taken for a medical emergency in his family.
In a move that will further widen the rift between the two leaders, Khot in a letter written to the SSS MP has rebuked Shetti for allegedly publicising the loan given for his father's medical treatment.
"In any political party or movement, a leader never publicises help he might have given to his closest associates. If he does so, there will be no difference between a leader and a common party worker. By doing this, you (Shetti) have given a practical example of how a leader ought not behave," the letter read.

Claiming that now, party workers will think twice before approaching their leader for help, he wrote that his father always advised him to clear debts at the earliest, especially when it belongs to someone who talks about it publicly.
"My father told me to return the money as soon as possible," Khot said.
He added that the money has been transferred to Shetti's bank account via RTGS.
The relations between Khot and Shetti have been strained for quite some time now with both of them leaving no opportunity to train guns at each other.
