Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju today visited the headquarters of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) here and took stock of its operational preparedness and capabilities.
On his maiden visit to the headquarters of the paramilitary force which guards critical infrastructure like airports and nuclear installations, the minister was briefed about its duties and routine drills and procedures.
The CISF brass led by its Director General Arvind Ranjan briefed the minister about the crucial requirements of the force and the recent initiatives which it has taken.

Rijiju asked the force to be ready for any new assignments in the future.
CISF has about 1.45-lakh personnel in its ranks and is not only tasked with the security of the 59 civilian airports in the country but also has the responsibility to secure installations in the nuclear and aerospace domain.
