The Centre today told the Delhi High Court that the mosque constructed inside its premises does not fall under the 7.765 acres area earmarked for construction of the court premises.
The Ministry of Urban development placed before the bench of justices Pradeep Nandrajog and Pratibha Rani a one-page communication sent by the Deputy Land and Development officer to Central Public Works Department (CPWD)intimating it about allocation of 7.765 acres of land for the construction of the High Court.
The bench was irked over the one-page communication before it and asked the Centre to file a proper affidavit in pursuance to the compliance of the earlier order.

"I am to say that president is pleased to the allocation of land measuring 7.765 acres on Sher Shah Road as shown in red lines on the enclosed plan to the Delhi administration for the construction of the Delhi High Court building," the communication placed before the bench said.
It also referred that the area of the mosque was excluded from 7.765 acres allocated for the construction of the High Court building.
The bench re-notified the matter for further hearing on May 28.
