A 60-year-old woman was killed allegedly by her son after she refused to give him money at Chota Govindpur here today, police said.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Govindpur police station, Rajesh Ranjan said Ravi Kumar Singh has been arrested for allegedly killing his mother.
The OC said Singh was quarrelling with his mother as she had refused to pay money as demanded by him.
The neighbours tried to help the woman but they were driven out by Singh who took his mother to a room and allegedly strangulated her with a gamcha (towel).
A police team rushed to the spot on being informed of the incident and found the Radha Devi in an unconscious state, he said adding that she was rushed to Tata Motors Hospital but the doctors declared her brought dead.
