Mother Theresa Film Fest begins

International Film Festival-2016, jointly organised by the World Catholic Association for Communication India Chapter in association with Canara Communication Centre and Missionaries of Charity Sisters was inaugurated here today.

The three-day festival, organised to mark canonization of Mother Theresa, was inaugurated by Gautham Lewis, a film maker and a pilot who was a polio-afflicted child from Kolkata rescued by the Mother.

He was later adopted by a British Nuclear physicistand was fortunate to have the best of education.

Lewis also runs s a training school for disabled people in London.

Speaking after the inauguration, he recalled how fortunate he was to be rescued by the Mother.
 

He was abandoned by his parents after he was paralysed at the age of 18 months.

He said he owed gratitude to the Missionaries of Charity for giving him a fresh lease of life and he believed in serving the society and helping others. More than 20 films would be screened at St Agnes Special School, St Agnes College, Roshni Nilaya, Padua and CM Hall at St Joseph Seminary for the next three days.
