Motherson Sumi shares climb 6% after good Q2 show

Shares of Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (MSSL) today soared almost 6 per cent after the company reported a 26.17 per cent rise in consolidated net profit for the quarter ended September 30, 2016.

The stock gained 5.99 per cent to close at Rs 326.35 on BSE. Intra-day, it zoomed 8.93 per cent to Rs 335.40.

At NSE, shares of the company surged 5.78 per cent to Rs 326.20.

On volume front, 6.65 lakh shares of the company were traded on BSE and over 76 lakh shares changed hands at NSE during the day.

Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (MSSL) today reported a 26.17 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 479.85 crore for the quarter ended September 30.
 

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 380.32 crore during the same period of the previous fiscal.

Total income from operations of the company rose to Rs 10,332.59 crore during the period under review, up 14.31 per cent, as against Rs 9,038.78 crore in the same quarter last fiscal, MSSL said in a BSE filing.
